Litchfield National Park is spectacular at any time of the year.
Common wildlife species include:

- Agile Wallaby
- Sugar Glider
- Northern Brushtail Possum

Litchfield is a habitat for hundreds of native bird species too. Wangi, Tolmer, Florence falls and Buley Rockhole have large pools that attract birds and reptiles such as monitors.
Frill-necked Lizard are common throughout the park, but will not be seen as frequently during the cool dry season months.
Kakadu National Park is one of very few places that is World Heritage listed for both its cultural and its natural values. The park covers an area of 20,000 square kilometres.
